Non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC): Navigating Treatment Landscape in the Real-world

Non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) is a malignancy of the urothelial cells in the urinary bladder that has not yet infiltrated the muscular wall. NMIBC is the most common type of bladder cancer and is classified as a non-organ-confined disease. Despite being non-invasive, NMIBC carries a high risk of recurrence and progression to muscle-invasive disease, highlighting the need for close monitoring and potential adjuvant treatment strategies. Selecting the most effective treatment requires understanding not only established options but also how they perform in real-world settings. Our client was interested to understand the treatment landscape of NMIBC in the real-world setting. To achieve this, we assisted our client by screening around 200 records followed by data extraction from around 20 records with a focus on treatment types, effectiveness, safety, and patient characteristics.
