Treatment options for advanced, metastatic, and ‘unresectable’ cancer of the exocrine pancreas are limited, and are often associated with poor treatment outcomes in terms of survival and quality of life. Our client wanted to generate evidence pertaining to efficacy and safety of various treatment options, including conventional chemotherapy and immunotherapy, with special emphasis on survival (overall, and progression-free), treatment outcomes (disease control rate, duration of response, overall response rate, and other parameters), and safety (adverse effects, rate of and discontinuation of medication). We performed 2 levels of article screening, and also performed data extraction and quality assessment from the eligible studies for this project using criteria shared by the client.
